CLANCY
HI---HOPE SOMEONE ANSWERS THIS. 16 WK OLD CLANCY USED TO "TALK"---MUTTER, TRILL, WARBLE, MAKE BIRD SOUNDS, GUTTERAL SOUNDS---FOR HALF HOUR AT A TIME. USUALLY WHILE TRAVELING TO SEE MY DYING MOM IN REST HOME DAILY. HE'D DO THIS 1-4 TIMES A DAY. SINCE I NO LONGER GO THERE, HE DOESN'T DO THIS EXCEPT BRIEFLY IN CAGE IF HE DOESN'T KNOW I AM AROUND. NOT DAILY. IS HE JUST QUIET BECAUSE HE IS MORE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE AND ADVENTUROUS? I GOT HIM AT 8 WEEKS. HE RESPONDS TO FAMILIAR QUESTIONS ABOUT FOOD, GOING OUT OF CAGEETC WITH 1-3 SYLLABLE NOISES, BUT OTHERWISE...??? IS THIS TYPICAL? THANKS. PLEASE SOMEONE LET ME KNOW IF THIS APPEARS ANYWHERE. I AM NEW TO SITE, CLUMSY ABOUT NAVIGATING!
judygram
Hello Clancy and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and Clancy. He probably got into a routine of doing those sounds every day that you went to see your Mom and now you don't do that so he will have to adjust to a new routine. You don't say how long ago this was, maybe he just needs more time to adjust to the new schedule. If he is more active now that could account for the absence of talking and making sounds, he had found another outlet for his energy perhaps. If he is otherwise healthy and happy I wouldn't worry about it too much. Take a little time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. If you have any pictures of Clancy you would like to share with us we would love to see him. Lyric
Hi Clancy- any change in their routine can change their behavior like that. I'd give him time to settle in to the new routine and see what happens.
