judygram
Its the new feather that comes out and is surrounded by a sheath kind of white looking and will feel slightly stiff to the touch, they will be sticking out slightly beyond the other feathers and you can feel them too. jdr
Last night we noticed that Coco had another tail feather in her mouth. That's the second tail feather she has pulled out,but it was probably two weeks ago when she pulled out the other.I'm hoping maybe it's just a moult coming on. lovemyGreys
Pin feathers are the new feathers coming in. They poke through with a blood supply attached, usually you will see them on the nape/neck area. They are in a keratin sheath.you should be able too see them very clearly if your grey has them coming through, they can irritate your grey so a gentle neck scratch is always appreciated. BMustee
They look like the ends of a shoelace.

BMustee
Don't worry too much about the feathers coming out. Elmo lost a tail feather last week and he lost a flight feather last night. A lot of birds at the pet store are starting to molt now too...I think it's just one of those times of year. It can take a little while for you to see the new feathers coming in, so don't be worried if you don't see anything yet.
