Knight05
Simple question, I've heard many members sugest harrison food to complement a greys normal seed and fruit and veggie diet because it's high in protein etc etc. What if my parrot doesn't like it? What else can i try instead?
judygram
Probably most of the other brands would be good also, the Harrisons is considered tops probably because it is organic but I would stay away from the colored ones. But don't give up on the Harrisons just yet, keep offering them, sometimes it takes a while for them to catch on to eating them. Have you tried the suggestions for making them more appealing to them like soaking them in a little apple juice to get them to start eating them then back off on the juice until none is added. lovemyGreys
Thanks judy, your up early Spence it can take forever to get them to eat pellet's ,Harrison's as Judy has said are considered one of the top brands. mine hate pellets, but with the diet they have,a good quality seed mix, pulses, sprouted seeds, fruit & vegetables i know they are getting the nutritional requirements they need,so i don't worry to much, i still offer them & one day they may surprise me. casper
At the moment I am trying to get Charlie to eat the Harrisons. He wont eat them out of his bowl, but will be hand fed them instead kind of like having a treat. It just takes time I will keep trying and hopefully wean him on to them properly soon. At least he eats fruit and veggies as well as his seed I am not over concerned about his diet just want to give him the best I can.
lovemyGreys
As long as he is trying them Caroline that's a start. If you manage to wean him on to them i would still personally leave seed in his diet perhaps a small handful each day, cracking open seeds it what they do naturally
