sugarbeth
Whenever I get my grey, I definitely want to set things up so that he/she has a lot of foraging opportunities. My bird(s) will be cage-free most of the time since I'm usually home all day, so I'm imagining several foraging tree "stations" throughout the house. (Never having a grey, I'm not sure how practical this is, but I imagine it would be fun for the bird to be able to find puzzles and surprises in different rooms.) I could set them all up the night before or while they're having their breakfast. Anyhoo, I was wondering how much time a grey would spend foraging if he had ample foraging opportunities to choose from. I would like to hear what sort of foraging setups that people have for their birds and how long does that keep them occupied, etc. Thanks!! lovemyGreys
Sounds a great idea to have different tree stations/stands in different rooms. It will definitely stimulate a grey to have various places to explore. As to the amount of time they would spend foraging is an open question, they all have different attention spans, if something intrest's them then there going to explore, play. It is a good idea to teach your grey to be able to stay perched on a stand & amuse himself so you can carry on with chores etc..It teaches them to be independent too
Laurie
One super easy thing I do for Klaus is take an empty toilet tissue roll, crimp one end shut, put a treat or two in, then crimp the other end. He loves ripping it up to get the treat. Just remember wherever they eat, there will be a mess! I give him the treat tube in his cage.

Hannah_Rae
Great link Sugarbeth. Juji's tree has multiple ceramic ramekins (sp?) that I put different things it. There are also holes drilled in the wood itself that I can hide things, but Juj hasn't quite got the concept of that yet.
