anyone heard of this?

I found this spot on noah's neck. the pink circle is an air pocket, the 2 blue circles are either fat deposits or a bone fragment? I doubt it's bone, but it's that color, and he doesn't hurt. I am taking him to the vet first thing tomorrow but the air pocket I have never seen before. any ideas? it's on the back of his neck just below his head.

I haven't a clue Wendy but a few of the more knowledgeable members may have an idea but it is a good thing you are taking him to the vet, I would be worried too. Please let us know what you find out.:ohmy:

WOW! I could never hold Talon to even see that. I have never seen or heard anything like it. Please let us know what the vet tells you.

it was a 2 person job. one to hold and distract, one to take the picture! He acts normal....well if you consider shredding himself normal. he stretched his neck and I noticed it tonight.

It does kind of look like a fatty tumor. What does your bird eat?

 

Also, here is a link to an article about various bumps you may find on your bird. If it's something like a fatty tumor, it's benign, but of course some bumps can be more ominous. Let us know what the vet tells you!

zupreem natural. along with almonds, fruits, and various

bird treats you would buy at the store. only high quality! It looks like a big air pocket. It is freaking me out. It may have always been there, I just noticed it from the lack of feathers.
