lovemyGreys Posted March 28, 2008 Share Posted March 28, 2008 Im sorry but if their fighting they need to be housed in seperate cages ASAP,before one harms the other.Did you get them from the same breeder ? are they clutch mates ? if you can give us a little more information we can advise you accordingly. lovemyGreys Posted April 1, 2008 Share Posted April 1, 2008 I would continue to house them seperately,introducing them know to one large cage will only cause upset.They are use to their own space now & if the male is being aggresive towards his sister out of the cage,you can only imagine what may happen if their housed together.I know of someone who has 2 greys,brother & sister but they were housed together from the day she brought them home. All greys go through a rebellious period & this can vary with the individual bird but it can start as early as 6 months.The male is maybe trying to show his dominance in the flock by acting aggressively towards his sister,you have to take control as flock leader & not allow him to see himself in this role.Reward always positive behaviour from both greys but never reinforce negative behaviour, if need be return the male to his cage for a few minutes when he plays up,he needs to know that bad beahviour is not acceptable & gains him no rewards.Give both birds your equal attention & one to one time if possible. malika Posted April 1, 2008 Author Share Posted April 1, 2008 well i had the male from 2 months and the female got rehomed somewere else then about a month ago the breeder phoned me up and asked if i could take the other parrot in as the owner couldnt cope with her so i took her in she is really tame and the move hasent really afected her but the male has been aggressive, i still give him as much me time as possible and give her time too.
