smithie007
This thread discusses the Content article: Help! New African Grey owner Hi! im not an expert on birds by any means but from what i have learned i would try to bathe the bird. if you dont want to take him out of his cage then try to put a large bowl of water in his cage and see if he does it himself. You may want to invest in a mister as well. this way you could gently spray the bird. Their feathers are almost completely water proof so it may take a while for the water to sink in. Try just talking to him daily and give him as much interaction as you can. Dont force him to do anything though! always give him the choice. I would definitely take him to the vet and tell the vet the situation. you may just need to get an initial physical type thing to see where the bird stands. Most avian vets will know what is normal for greys. Other then that i dont know what other advise i could give you. best of luck! chat any time you would like to. -Autumn
