Molting

Hi sorry to bother you, I just wanted to ask a quick question about my 1yr old grey Jocko.

I'v noticed that he has a number of new feathers sprouting on his neck. Is it normal for this number to come through at once.

Hi Kelly,yes this quite normal & the neck is one of the first places you will see new shafts coming through.jocko is the right age for his first molt .

Hi kelly, my Charlie is going through his first molt at the moment and his neck has lost alot of feathers with lots of pin feathers coming through, No need to worry.

Dayo is molting too and lets you know when you hit a new pin feather while scratching...OUCH... B)
