thejoie
Hello!! I have decided that I will be bringing home a baby Grey... -in a year- It's a while... but it gives me a lot of time to research, read about everyone else's birds, find a breeder, and graduate nursing school! I've been waiting for the perfect time to get my Grey and I think that after I graduate would be perfect. I'm finishing up my Junior year of college now. I'm 22 and have a little green female parrotlet named Millie that came to me as a rehome. And a Hahn's macaw named Mia.. who's about 4 months old right now. She's my baby girl. I love her dearly. My first birdie love was a Grey and I've been waiting for years till I could get one! I've decided on a Timneh Grey because I like their smaller size and the darker colors. I've read that they can be more outgoing and more at ease around strangers. Besides birds, I have two dogs (a Boston Terrier and a Bichon mix), 3 turtles, 2 bettas, and a salt water tank. I love animals Anyway- I can't wait to get to know everyone and their birds!!!
judygram
Hello Thejoie and welcome to the family, so glad you could join us and we look forward to hearing more about you and your quest to own a grey. You are doing the right thing in waiting until you graduate to get that grey and doing so much research so you will be ready to take on that responsibility of grey ownership. Also it helps that you already own several birds but this one will be a little different but so rewarding an experience that will last a lifetime. Take some time and read thru the many threads for lots of useful information and do not hesitate to ask questions you may have. We will do our best to get you some answers and help you in any way we can. We do have an other birds room if you would like to share some pictures of your parrotlet and your Hahn's macaw, we would love to see them. thejoie
Thank you for the welcome I can't wait to learn more about them. They are definitely one of the most interesting birds out there! Hopefully this last year of college will FLY by!!!
judygram
It probably won't but for your sake I hope it does, it always goes slow when you are waiting for something you have been wanting for a long time. I absolutely love my Josey:kiss:

Nekkyousha
Welcome, well done on deciding to wait and research, very sensible, i on the other hand was a bit impatient, i had been wanting a parrot for years but when i finally decided on a grey, i got one 2weeks later. Though i knew a fair bit about them beforehand, this wasnt smart. either way im learning as i go and it was very lucky i got a tame grey who took to me fast, and i could never ever part with her. If i had to wait a year i would start to twitch! lol. i wish you all the luck and this site will definately be a big help to you as it was to me.
