siobha9
I pm'd Joe the other day to ask him for a recipe for my 14 year old daughter. She has a cooking exam in April. Today is the trial run in front of her teacher and she decided to make lasagne. I asked Joe for a tomato based sauce for the lasagne that was (a) easy for a 14 year old, (b) quick to make and © tasty. Well Joe you did it:woohoo: She made her meal last night for us to practice and it was absolutely gorgeous! She is delighted. She was a bit worried about what her teacher would say as she didnt stick to the teachers recipe (it was awful). I told her to say she got the recipe from a genuine Italian chef! Thank you so much Joe, I am sending you some karma! Siobhan (and Orla my daughter)

siobha9
That's what I thought, and she didn't go wrong... it was lovely. Her teacher was very impressed... and considering she is an old bag, that was high praise indeed! Her only recommendation was that Orla served a green salad as well as a baked potato and Orla said she didnt have time!

judygram
Thats right Kristin, no one has baked potato with lasagna, thats too much starch. I'm with you, some garlic bread and the salad and I am set, yum, yum, now I'm hungry.
Ronda477
Yes I agree a baked potato! Okie dokie than! I'll tell you though, we went to our little so called Restaurant in town where they always serve brown beans and cornbread, good little country place I guess, not taste though, but they had lasagna for their special one day, and my mom and I (keep in mind mom is 100% Italian) decided to have some! They made it with American Cheese!!! It was soo gross we couldn't eat it! I don't know about some people lol!
