I desperatly want to potty train my Teluhla. She is about 13 weeks or so now and she just poops everywhere!!! Any advice on how you guys did it would be great. We have been saying, oh you pooped! everytime she goes so that hopefully she will recognize the word with the action, and we are trying to watch for the poop dance, unfortunalty the dance and the poop seem to be simultaneous. HELP!!!

I know my Josey starts backing up and you see the rear end lower a little and that is the signal that a poop is coming, if I have her on me I can get her to the trashcan before she lets it go.

You need to use a word to associate with the poop so you can use that to signal when she is ready to go and if she does go where you want her to then praise her lavishly.

I have a Brown-headed parrot that is potty trained....but backwards. He will not go in his cage!! I have to take him either out of it or off of the top several times a day so he can go! He will then wait until I get over a newspaper or the trash before he goes and he wont usually do it until i say "ok do it" then he goes and happily goes back to whatever he was doing!

Maui is just about 5 months old. We just try to keep track of the time when we are holding him and take him back to his perch after around 20 minutes. We tell him to "Go Poop" We have done this over and over. Now, he will usually go right away and he knows that we will ick him right back up after he goes. He tends not to want to go on me, but, wants to climb up on the back of my chair if he needs to go and I haven't taken him. This is a sign to get him to the perch right away. Body language is the key. With repeatition, you can be successful.

Juji shows very strong potty habits. She always goes first thing when you take her out of her cage, so we have her go onto her top cage perch and say "go poop" and she does, sometimes right away, sometimes it takes a little while.

I don't think it will take long for her, but I don't want her to depend on me to tell her either.
