i have a quick question was doin my shoppin at weekend and i brought a few things for alfie, got few packs of different food to try out on him.

1.almond and raisin mix

2.chick peas

was just wondering are these ok to give before i open packs.i have soaked some of the chick peas overnite so if alfie cant eat them i will ha ha.any help would be greatfully apreciated:kiss:

They are all ok to feed, just limit the raisins, they are essentially dried grapes and we don't like to feed too many grapes to them since they are mostly water and sugar.

The chick peas are great and the almonds are a good nut choice. We do have some threads in the bird food room that tell a lot of the things we can give to our greys and of course the ones we cannot. You can give him most anything you eat except for the ones on the forbidden list.

Well thats what we are here for and we love helping out. What you can do is compile a list of the foods you can't feed to them and post it on your fridge so you can refer to it when you need it. That list would be shorter than the one with foods they can eat.

Thanks Judy :)

Chickpeas are a great source of zinc, folate and protein,Chickpeas are low in fat and most of this is polyunsaturated. For us humans they are a healthy source of carbohydrates & very good for people with insulin sensitivity or diabetes.
