Minime Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 What species... I will be very impressed if anyone gets it...any twitchers out there? good luck. p.s. this image was not taken by myself, but my good friend Andy Harmer. www.andyharmer.com
LisaM Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Some sort of thrush or flycatcher? Can you give us a hint like where is this bird found in the wild (continent)?
Tari Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 This I have no clue. I always look up the ones I see at my bird feeder and this is not one of them. lol
LisaM Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Okay...here's my guess... Is it a juvenile or female Red-Backed Shrike?
Minime Posted February 19, 2008 Author Posted February 19, 2008 well done Lisa...correct...mammals tomorrow me thinks!
perfectpeter Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 oh i missed this one but wouldnt have guessed that anyway lol
judygram Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Darn Lisa, you're good, real good, way to go girl, the rest of us never had a chance did we, jeez!!!!!!
LisaM Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I actually can't believe I got that one right. I guess that's what a day off work, sending kids to a day program and spending 8+ hours straight on bird forums (with periodic searches through oodles and oodles of bird identification websites) will get me! I couldn't have gotten it without the "European" clue! Thanks Minime! I love these! Judy - I don't think it's that you guys never had a chance...i think it's just that you guys actually have a life! (It was a heck of a way to avoid writing reviews of my staff, which I had planned to do today...this was MUCH more fun but I'll be paying for it with some late nights this week! :-))
judygram Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Lisa I need a life, I spend way too much time on this site but I love it here so what can I say.
LisaM Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Me too...i think it would take enrollment in a 12-step program (GFA - Grey Forums Anonymous?) to get me away from here! :-) And I got the picture of the white fronted amazons because they were one of the pictures he had posted of his drawings (so I kind of feel like I cheated)...which are so awesome! This is such a great family of people here.
nevjoe Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 GOOD Going Lisa. You're real GOOD. KARMA FOR YOU GIRL. Joe
LisaM Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Thanks Joe! I love karma! (both here and in real life) :-)
