Clicker training article

Found this when cleaning out my folders. I have the clicker but sure is a lot of trouble to get the thing out and remember to click in the right places. lol

Good link Tari, i do have a clicker but i used mine as a deterrent, as soon as one of the greys went to bite i would click & say NO ! it worked for me that way

Judy it did work for me & still does just have to remember to have the clicker in my pocket when im with the greys :pinch:

Ok going to try some simple tricks with my clicker and Que but got to teach her first that the clicker means reward. lol

So I ordered me one. I have even heard about people using it to help with taming a bird. So maybe it well help me with Doodlebug's taming too.

And it is suppose to help bring birds out of the shell that don't play a lot. Well see. Wish me luck and most of patience to follow threw. lol

I've started clicker training with Jenna, more to develop communication and bonding than to get her to do interesting things, but I am hoping it will be useful in other ways. Right now I'm trying to use it to help Jenna get accustomed to a harness. We've made pretty good progress; she'll stick her head through the harness and let me drape it over her but I have not yet figured out how to get her wings into the harness correctly since she is not fond of being handled all that much. We'll see how it goes!

Please let us know how your training CDs and clickers go. I'm interested to see who recommends which, and then I may think about using this type of training with Obi.
