You can start now. I don't mist very often cause Que does not enjoy it. Can't say she hates it but she just sits there.

On the other hand she really enjoys splashing around in a bowl of water. Took me 6 months to get her to do it but she now loves it.

I would put the bowl in the cage a couple times a week with veggies that sink so she would have to get wet to get to them. After six months she learned to enjoy it and well really get herself wet.

Some people's greys like the sink for taking a shower and some love to get in the shower.

I am sure more well tell you about how they clean up their birds.

misting baby Greys generally starts when the flight and tail feathers start emerging. There should be no reason for a Grey to hate and fear being misted, provided they are exposed to baths from a very young age.:)

Romo didn't want anything to do with a bowl of water or the sink. I started asking him if he wanted a bath and taking him with me in the shower. I fill a spray bottle with hot water and mist it over him - he seems to really enjoy it. He has a shower perch and enjoys being in there but doesn't like the actual spray from the shower. He just gets his misting and then keeps me company.

Well as long as he gets a good misting that is ok and he keeps you company so it is good all around. Have you tried using cold water for the misting, it has been mentioned in other threads that they actually prefer cooler water to bathe in.

If only this wasn't such an "each individual bird" type thing...

Ours absolutely HATE misting from a spray bottle but they range from toleration to exhuberance when in the shower on the lowest setting I can get while still having water come out.

I'm still trying the misting as that's the only way to get the aloe juice onto them, but for down-to-the-skin soaking, they have perches in the shower. I use the hand-held on low setting (and rather cool temp) and turn it so that it goes up and then comes down gently on them (not spraying directly on them from above). I also then use it to get their bellies and under the wings.

The most important thing is to keep trying and you might want to start with several options while they're young as that would provide more opportunities for wet fun in the future!

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
