rickster
Well we brought home our 12 year old rehome today. The one that the lady was terrified of.She towelled him and he absouletly went nuts,,...I backed out of the room so he would not associate me with the dirty deed. She put him in a small pet carrier and gave him a few green beans and he kept kngawing at the carrier trying to get out.I loaded his cage and we were off.My wife held him and talked to him in a quiet voice on the way home and he seems to listen.I offered hime a small peice of a chicken nugget that we had had for lunch and he took it through the hole of the carrier but dropped it.We tried again and he nibbled a bit then dropped it.ON the way home I switched on the radio to a low level ..( music) and he seemed interested and then said "Hello"I made a pit stop at walmart and my wife sat with him in the truck. WHen i got back she told me he started whistling and said hello at least a half dozen more times.Once we got him home , unloaded the cage and filled his water and feed dishes I set his carrier in the bottom and opened it.He climbed to the top and started chattering. We gave a bit to take in his surroundings and within 20 minutes he had said hello several more times, barked and howled like a dog and took my wifes finger in his mouth through the cage and flicked his tounge around it. She said he didnt seem to be trying to hurt her just knawing a little bit.He then accepted a sprig of broccoli from me before I went upstairs to get ready for work. When i came down i told him bye as I opened the door and he said "Bye Bye, I love You!" I know he knew how to say this but is it a good thing that hes talking at his new home so quickly ?
