Got two people that are talking to me about buying a baby blue from me. One is for sure the other still needs to "think" about it. lol It sort of worried me they don't really want anouther bird since they have to "think" about or just don't want one of mine. lol

Anyway got some great pictures. This one is around 6 months old now.

This one is a week younger.

And I still have the one that is 8 months old but of course they want the "babies" funny thing is the oldest is the tamest of the three. lol

They are all still talking I will miss them.

So you own both the greens and the blues?? Have you noticed eithers high points or low points.. I have read that the blues are less vocal but more sweet and the greens are loud, talkative and tend to be tempramental.. I would love to hear your imput on these little guys and gals.

My green does not talk and not that noisy. Blues also tend to be smaller then the greens. My blues are smaller then my green.

The blues are talking all the time just about. Not loud but very chatty. This afternoon the two youngest were chatting with each other.

Sweet Pea "I love you"

Azure "I love you"

Sweet Pea "Pretty bird"

Azure "Good bird"

On and on back and forth for about an hour. Even heard something new. "What you doing"

Oh and they were ummmm having an afair. lol They don't care that they are brother and sister. Pretty sure Azure if a girl. lol

Sweet Pea is now in his new home with his forever family. YA for Sweet Pea and I should stop tearing up in a few days. :(

I do believe my blues are much sweeter. The green breeders where I work are loud and many of them well try to bite threw the cage.

My blue pair are going on 3 years old and while they dont like being handled they still don't bite.

Post edited by: Tari, at: 2008/01/28 02:27

That is so adorable! I got to hold my first quaker parrot the other day. I really want one I think though I would have to have one of each  Well maybe sometime in the future I could get a couple.. They are awesome little feathered kids I will one day have some..

We own a green quaker, and we got her when she was 3 years old and abused. Hubby can now handle her anywhere and do anything to her, of course we have had her for about 9 years now. But she is very very good at talking! She says tons of phrases and on command for people. She used to be just my husbands bird after he did all the work with getting her back after the abuse, but since we got our TAG she loves attention now from anyone lol. And of course hubby is still her favorite. But she is very loud!

The pictures you have are very pretty Tari! I didn't know they had different personalities. That's good to know! I was against getting another quaker for how loud they can be and just kind of annoying lol. And we do give her attention all the time, don't get me wrong, she's out with us every day. But I may consider a blue one, I have always thought they were pretty!

Some are loader then others. I sold another of the "loud" ones last Saturday. lol I even warned them but she was a good talker too so they took her.

Just have one left now. He talks too just now as much as the other two. But he did learn a new word. He now says Hello.

Topaz on the other hand seems to of stopped talking. Not sure why. Only says good bird when I take her out and practice step ups.

 • 2 weeks later...

Ya it is unfortant. But some states did that back when birds were still imported. The birds that got loose back then could survive in the wild and eat crops and there was worry about what it would do to the native birds.

And then there is the power companies having issues with the huge next quakers make.

What they don't seem to relize is now days our quakers won't survive in the wild cause most are hand raised and have no clue how to be birds.:(
