bathing

We all have funny stories about our Birds. My Mozart likes to take a bath in his water dish:P Not everyday mind you. I have tried showing him the sink, put a contain large enough for his butt...yet watching him try to fit his body in his bowl is beyond funny:kiss: The river of water, everything soaked and I mean everything within a foot of his cage. The look on his face afterwards is priceless. Yet most every article I have found states Greys don't like water!

baillor: Welcome to the site! My CAG Mazy loves to do this also as many greys do. I hold her under the shower to get her really wet once a week and then use the blow dryer. (she loves the blow dryer) Try putting a shallow wide pan or the such in the bottom of her cage with just about a half inch of water in it. See what happens. It'll take her a while to get used to something new in the cage but clean it out and refresh it daily and soon she will find an interest to check it out. Aftwer, she may not use it but you never know. These greys make their own decisions

Bye for now from Alaska

Thanks for all the replies!B) I have tried many times over the years to get Mozart into the shower. He doesn't like to be "told" what to do. :woohoo: When we put the shallow dish in his cage, well lets just say it wasn't a big success:S As forgetting pictures of him bathing.... I need to get a downloadable camera. Gadget person I'm not. Just about deal with regular e-mails:woohoo:

Yes, Baillor, I've tried the shallow dish in the bottom of the cage, too. What a mess! (Not water all over, just a MESS in the water - poop, discarded food, etc. and I swear it took him all of 5 minutes to get the water that filthy!)

I've decided to get a shower perch and eeeeeaaase him into the idea verrrrry slowly. :P
