BadKarma
Ok as I don't have a grey yet and am still in the research phase I have a question. I do some gunsmithing and engraving work and since work picked up lately this came to mind. Would the chemical residue on my hands be harmful to a grey? I of course wash my hands, but after washing them six times in the last two hours I can still smell the chemicals on my hands. All my work is done in a seperate part of the house (garage) and I use air scrubbers to keep the fumes in check so I really don't think I need to worry there. I do know that I can smell this stuff and wondered what yall thought.
Tari
Can you get some Permatex hand cleaner? My husband uses it when he gets stuff on his hands and when he is done there is no smell left. You can get some at any paint store. Good Luck
BadKarma
Haven't tried permatex hand cleaner. Usually the citrus stuff works pretty good but I quess with the added volume of work it just ain't cuttin the mustard. That or I'm just paranoid. Some of the stuff I use is pretty harsh for humans so Im sure something as sensitive as a grey would really have a problem with it. I am working on saving up enough money to change out my solvent tank for a ultra-sonic cleaner. That will help some but some of the chems I have to use. I will give the permatex a try thanks. Guest briansmum
could you wear latex gloves when working?
BadKarma
I try to work with latex/nitrile gloves when I can but some of the stuff I do has tiny parts. You really cant prevent coming in contact with the stuff. I'm so used to it I really don't think about it much. Ok now my list includes Permatex and F10. Thanks guys

BMustee
I would be very careful about the chemical smell on your hands. If you can smell it the chemical is still there and if there is a residue on your hands it can be absorbed through a parrots feet. I would try the stuff everyone has recommended and make sure your hands don't smell anymore before handling.
