hello there all you parrot lovers i must thank all of you who gaveme advice on jura's biting after some weeks he has setteld down and has stopped biting me i bought jura 8 weeks ago from private seller he told me jura was 4years old is there away you can age a parrot

Not really. When they are babies you can tell by the eye color an approximant age and the black tips on the tail lets you know it has not yet molted. After that first molt and the eyes have changed there is really nothing that ages them. I have heard that when a grey hits sexual maturity the eyes will become more yellow, but that would only tell you if it was over 5 years. Unless you have reason to believe the seller was lying I would go by what they say.<br><br>Post edited by: BMustee, at: 2007/11/14 20:44

Yeah there isn't a real way to age a bird physically, HOWEVER I can look at my Greys, and there's a 10 year age difference, and I can most definitely look at them and tell which one is older, and younger, even if they weren't mine!
