QWERTY_ Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Hello Again Lucy is still with us for now and... We got a question What does this mean? Are they fighting or are they in love or is it their way of getting to know each other.? They would do this sometimes and then one of them would just fly off... However they do eat together... as in from the same perch from two different bowls... Can someone Translate? Thanks in advance
Talon Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 It isn't fighting, it looks more like they are trying to establish the pecking order, who the dominant one is. There's always an order in a flock.
chezron Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) It started with each of them posturing and ended with the less dominant one flying away. It didn't seem like they were actively trying to hurt each other, but as Talon said, they were establishing a pecking order. I watched it again and looked like the one on the right started it by flying over and entering the other one's space. They started that beak sharpening behavior which is definitely demonstrating how "tough" they are to each other. Edited March 15, 2015 by chezron
kins2321@yahoo.com Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Definitely, establishing dominace. Not really different, from fighting! Having two greys, is twice the work, but there are many owners that have made it work. Nancy
