Me: okay Zeus time to eat your supper Zeus: I want crackers Me: I gave you crackers (everything is crackers) Zeus: is that good Me: I don't know Zeus, why don't you eat and tell me Zeus: cracker, cracker, cracker Me: Zeus, I gave you crackers, now go eat your supper Zeus: I'm going to throw up Me: what? I totally lost it! And had to walk away lol!

slayv4petz
It never ceases to amaze me the stuff that they learn, I certainly didn't teach that! lol I'm used to the potty mouths that I have, I can curse like a sailor, but like children if you say it, they will repeat it. So I do watch my mouth around them

katana600
That is so funny. It has to be a "thing" to teach a parrot to say cracker. Gilbert asks for a cracker and it could mean anything food related. I guess Zeus is making a mockery of your food prep skills. Too funny. I love that they can tell us what they are thinking. slayv4petz
LOL the only thing I've heard Loki say is bad bird, and she does it in a quiet voice, unlike Zeus lol! I tell her No, you're a good bird, and you're my pretty girl (I was told that she is a she) I think you might be on to something lol, maybe he doesn't like my prep skills lol! The others usually just fling food at me if they don't like it lol Edited November 13, 2014 by slayv4petz
slayv4petz
That's the thing with these guys, they have no problem letting you know that your food prep is not up to par! Ugh the rejection lmbo! ; P
katana600
My little darling asks sweetly for a cracker. I fill her food and water and she wrenches the water dish out and drenches me. Then she throws food at me when I clean up. I like Zeus' approach. He is very funny.
slayv4petz
Oh my! LOL! I'm so glad that they can't pull the bowls out, I will say they are a good shot though lol
birdhouse
ROFL !!! I absolutely love that! You do realize however that you're in deep yogurt, right...? W/a flock as big as yours I'm guessing that you've discovered how one good belly laugh makes anything likely to become the favorite thing for (quite) a while. slayv4petz
Haha yup! Several weeks ago, I had been scrubbing the floor the old fashioned way (on knees) well after several times of getting up off the floor and back down, my body was aching, I made 1 little sound I let out a loud sigh, well Max started imitating that sound, only he was way over the top with it, and every time I'd walk into the room or out he would let out a obnoxious sigh, didn't take to long and all 3 greys were doing it, of course silly me left out a good laugh, and for weeks all three would do the obnoxious sigh oy vay Hubby says that I must have been doing it a lot for Max to learn, I deny of course Edited November 14, 2014 by slayv4petz
birdhouse
On no you didn't! lol If a sound is interesting enough, a grey will pick it up on the first time. I always get a kick out of "new" parronts finding out about themselves because of the things their greys repeat back to them. Some of the craziest things interest them & absolutely nothing gets by them!
slayv4petz
Yeah I did! LOL and Max is such character, his 1st day here, hubby had brought him in the house, set the carrier down on floor, opened the door, Max walked out, Joe guided him towards his cage (same one he had at previous home) he climbed up the legs, into his cage, And slammed the door shut on Joe
