Rebellious Pearl

My mother in law has contacted me via text while I'm at work (almost an hour away from home). She went over to my house to visit Pearl and let her out of her cage. She has to leave now and Pearl is refusing to go back in. She's already tried almonds and wrapping up fun treats and placing in the cage.

 

I really wish she wouldn't have gotten her out! :confused: My mother in law will stay with her until she climbs into her cage or until I get home, but she needs to leave sooner if possible. Any suggestions?

Possible she can darken the room she's in and possibly get a towel over Pearl? Whenever Greycie gets naughty-bitey with me and won't let me step her up off my shoulder, I head for the enclosed bathroom and turn off the light. Helps change her 'tude without me being forceful about it.

can she pick her up with another perch and then slide her into the cage?? marco gets stubborn like that and i have to get my "spare" perch and sternly say STEP UP and she finally will and then she'll allow me to put her in the cage

Thank you! DUH! I didn't even think about having her step up onto a spare perch! What a little stinker she is. I think she knows that if she gets put back in her cage Grandma has to leave.

That's nice though she has a 'relative' that likes to come and visit her. Refusing to go back in is Pearls way of showing how much she appreciates the company - heehee!

Thanks for the laugh. Pearl knows how to make her Grandma feel wanted!! Poor Grandma, but at least now she knows what to do if it happens again. Though I think Pearl will come up with something different next time.
