kpflynn
My bird has two travel cages and her usual big cage. These three cages all have a variety of perches for her; however, when she sleeps she always roosts on the lip of a water dish. She only roosts there to sleep. This seems so uncomfortable to me. Is there a reason she does this, or is it just some strange behavior?
SRSeedBurners
Ours did the same. She would only roost on the lip of the food/water bowl when we had every other imaginable perch in her sleep cage. I finally removed the bowl to force her to choose another one. She chose the swinging perch of all things.... They are weird ones.
chezron
I can't help you on that one. I have no idea why she roosts there. Maybe try what SterlingXL says and remove the dish to give her other alternatives. Maybe she is habit driven like us all.
Ray P
Don`t try to out think your grey. I know people that sleep with a pillow, and some that sleep flat on their back along with some that sleep in a chair. I even had staff members that could sleep standing up next too their job. kins2321@yahoo.com
Sophie has several water dishes, as well as several perches. She loves one water dish, that she loves to perch on. I'm going to have to clean out poop. Why remove it? She loves to sit on it.I have left that perch empty of water.... she didn't like it. I don't always question why Sophie does what she does! As long as Sophie and Sunny have several other options for water, always satisfy your birds desires. Nancy
