Acappella
So glad lovemybird! broached the poop topic below! Dorian's still almost totally cage-bound so poop outside the cage isn't a problem yet, but he's started holding it through the night and doing a really big poop as soon as I turn up the light and greet him in the morning. I don't remember him doing this in the store. During the day he's right on schedule, about every 20 minutes. Does anyone else have a bird who does this, and do you know if it can hurt him. (not that I can think of a way of changing it!)
judygram
They all hold their poop thru the night, that is why there is such a big bomb in the morning, they just don't go while they are sleeping, but during the day yes it is about every 20 minutes or so. birdgranna
I am also glad this topic has come up. I find my female greys poopies are very thin, more urine than urites and feces first thing in the morning. I got one on the head the other day as I leaned in to change a dish:S
Acappella
Does the old wives tale that getting pooped on the head means good luck apply when it's indoors, I wonder:lol: Thank, Judygram, for the reassurance. New mom syndrome here and none of the books I've read mentioned the morning poop!!!
danmcq
The morning poop is a secret that all Greys owners keep as a suprise for new grey baby owners. We get such a belly laugh of the shock when the morning bomb gets dropped on the unsuspecting new parronts ;-) Welcome to the Grey ownership club :-)

Acappella
Thanks guys. One less thing to worry about. Maybe I can use the morning bomb to begin using the 'go poop' phrase! I'm so glad I found this web site and group.
MakenasDad
Ya, Makena does the exact same thing. I take him to the kitchen sink, and while I'm making his breakfast, he lets it go like a B-52 and *BANG* - the sink didn't even see it comin.... It's like a nuclear blast!!! Guest briansmum
yep same here. when he was a little baby he pooped through the night but now he always does one when i cover him for bed and then always a huge one in the morning, which involves lots of butt wiggling and whistling

judygram
Dan does have a weird but good sense of humor, but you got to love how we find the humor in a big morning poop. {Feel-good-0002006E}
