SRSeedBurners Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 No - don't hit me with the SPAM tazers... I just found out about this today: if you shop from smile.amazon.com, you can choose a charity that will recieve .5% of your purchases. Since the only charities I give a damn about have to do with animals and birds topping that list, I typed 'parrot' into their charity search list and several pages came back. I bet you can find a favorite on their too! Im' looking for the little parrot rescue in South Dallas. I saw one in Carlsbad or Fallbrook California (KimKim )
Muse Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I know Project Perry is on there somewhere. I have been boycotting Amazon over UPS mistreating my packages and Amazon sitting on their hands and not giving me a choice of who delivers the things I buy. But I have been donating directly. Also - Busy Beaks (http://www.busybeaks.com/) does a dollar for dollar match of toys purchased for valid 501©3 rescues (they must have their 501©3 designation to qualify) during the month of May. It's over for this year, but they do it yearly. This is a good way to make your donations go further! If you have a favorite non-profit rescue, tell them to get signed up with Busy Beaks before next year!
Inara Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 smile.amazon is a great way to donate -- thanks for posting this Sterling! I have been using it to donate to one of my favorite charities. They stop reminding you after awhile to log in via smile.amazon instead of regular amazon, so just a head's up to bookmark it or just get a memory
