Molting or plucking?

Hi everyone,

 

I'm a very worried mum at the moment. My boy sid is just over a year old now & has just had a major moulting. My concern is the past 2 days I've noticed bald patches on he's legs and tonight can see a tiny bald patch under he's wing and the feathers look chizzled? If that makes sense. Is he moulting or plucking is the question. I'm a novice bird owner so am worried. I can't get a good look under he's wing as he don't like being touched there much. He's always been a happy bird. He's always out with us the majority of the time I am home. I feel like I'm doing something wrong? Please any advise wild be grateful.

Definitely send a picture or two. I'm not an expert with molting or plucking, but many here are. I'm sure Sophie goes thru a molt...but I just find a few more larger feathers than usual. Her personality remains unchanged.( Thank God!) Nancy
