greyday87
Hi, Loki is around 9 months old so I think some molting is normal for him, the question I have is the spot on his stomach that seems like its missing some feathers, is it normal molting or plucking?? He doesn't show any signs of stress and I don't see him over preening or plucking. I attached a picture, its the white tuft part on his belly. birdhouse
Yeah, that spot is a little over preened. You might want to watch to see that it doesn't spread. In the meantime, you might want to read this thread http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?200925-Isaac-Is-Taking-Out-Tummy-Feathers It is the season for fids to do feather damage, unfortunately. Hormones, lack of humidity & light, holiday related changes. It can all catch up w/these guys under the right circumstances. So you might want to take any applicable suggestions from that thread that you think might help.
