A chewer? :(

Grumpy

Recommended Posts

My bird has recently developed a bad habit of chewing its wings' flight feathers, the tips of ...

He seems healthy and is fully flighted, but obviously there is something missing. I know that his cage is not big enough until I get him a bigger one, or possibly make an indoor aviary, but he's out of it for the most of the day, has plenty of toys to play with, good food with the addition of veggies ...

Maybe it's an issue of overbonding already, since he may be on my hand enjoying head scritches, kisses, but at the same time he starts overpreening and nibbling/chewing the tips of the flight feathers.

By the way, he also has his regular baths, either spraying or he takes a sink bath himself.

I will replace the cage asap, but am not sure it will help, since I know lots of stories about birds having the best conditions possible, but the chewing issue still on.

Anyway, would appreciate some suggestions ...
