al7601 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Here it is. She's an 8 month old female eclectus who we've been giving more fruits and vegetables and less seeds and pellets. We are growing concerned. thanks
JeffNOK Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I don't think that looks unusual. I am not a vet, but my CAG's poop often looks like that. Especially in the morning. I know eclectus diets are different, so I can't compare. Hopefully others will offer their thoughts.
BaileysPapa Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Giving more fruits & vegetables will produce more watery & loose droppings. Being so young, please make sure the bird is getting some pellets & seeds. Especially young birds need a balance of all foods because you are setting her up to eat a variety of foods throughout her life. And she is growing and her body needs various nutrients. Diarrhea is more watery and would be soaking into the newspaper. It looks okay to me. You will see subtle differences depending on what she eats each day.
SRSeedBurners Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Looks exactly like Greycie's and Tobie's when they get watery foods. Color is good. Try giving a pickled beet if you want a real fright Looks like bloody poop. We've scared the heck out of ourselves a couple of times when we've done this.
al7601 Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 thank you everyone. I feel better now.
