MOMENTS OF TENDERNESS; bonding with my CAG ...

Dorian likes his scritches at night night time, after all but the night light are off, so pictures would be tough. Actually, I think it's just a way of putting off bedtime, like a kid asking for a glass of water. Love the pictures of forum members and their fids.

Nice pics from both of you!

I can see that your birds are as cuddly as mine, and Misty takes exactly the same position on the monitor as my Cockey ;)

Well these were/are quite blurry as HRH Inara is generally a moving target, and I was using my small hand held digital cam, and apparently was not doing a great job of it! :D However, we do have several tender moments per day/hour/minute, she's not a snuggler but she is very affectionate. While I generally don't plant major lip locks on her beak, she does drop a few kisses near my lips and sometimes will say in a near whisper: kisskiss, then make the kissing sound.

Will have to try to land better quality ones soon.

Many greys don't snuggle at first. Many don't snuggle for several years! Sophie chose her time to snuggle. Approximately age four. Now she is 13.She is truly a snuggle girl, and sometimes its hard to satisfy her needs. I work so many hours. As I have been dealing with Ryan's issues for his dog that he loves to death, I made a decision that I needed a week off to help Ryan when his dog came home. I also decided, I work too much. Sophie is understanding. I'm tired of Sophie being understanding, and want to be home more with her. I told my boss today, I need to be home more, and am changing my hours. I pulled the " longevity card!" She argued that my kids are in college. I said " I have a kid home still!" She didn't know that! I didn't tell her it was a bird. I am going to be home more now for Sophie. Nancy

Here's my little girl. It's the one thing she wants more than anything else and that's those head scratches. She loves it just as much when I rub the side of her cheeks also. As soon as I walk through the door coming in from work, she's bent over looking out her cage to see if it's me. As soon as I start whistling one of her tunes, she's up on the cage bars waiting for me to take her out. Of course I have to also acknowledge the dog about the same time or his feelings might get hurt. :D

I missed this thread the first time while I was traveling. I am glad it came back up again so I could get caught up. All those pictures of your parrots being happily close to you are endearing. We are closer than ever to getting Gilbert to enjoy head scratches. One day she will be ready for human hands and when she can be relaxed, I can find time to post a photo. Until then, I looked at all of yours again and again.

The time certainly will come, and then we'll enjoy watching your pictures :)
