lvlasked Posted November 9, 2013 Share Posted November 9, 2013 I didn't know where to post this so I hope this is in the right area I have brought my first 2 parrots today one of the feathers are fine looking in top tip health but the other of looks like its been plunking or being plunked on the underside of the neck as he was a quite big bold patch there I got them from a lad probly around my age and they where kep in a aviary I think they maybe cock and hen and he brung them in a cage that's not even big enuff for a dam budgie but my cage as not turned up yet so not likely to till Monday im just looking to why one bird got the bold patch and what things I can to to try help it improve and not get worse Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
katana600 Posted November 10, 2013 Share Posted November 10, 2013 If they are in the same cage, it would be far better to get a second, small temporary cage while you wait for the big ones to be delivered. It is bad for two to be in the same cage, worse if the cage is small. One may be plucking the other or one may be so stressed and scared it plucks itself. The change of catching them and bringing them to you is very stressful also. Talk softly and give them some space, they are likely scared out of their minds. forummehta Posted November 19, 2013 Share Posted November 19, 2013 Why don't you leave them free in your room or something instead?? Or just make or buy a bird stand and leave them out. As for the feathers, you'll just have to wait till they grow back...make sure you give them proper food and water. Include fresh fruits and veggies too!
