Keri
This is probably a dumb question, but I'm only 3 days into this and still learning. I got Morgan from another family. The gave me everything they had for Morgan. A bag of seeds, which they told me should be her "main" food and to keep some in her cage at all times. I also got a container of Kung Fu Yum Crazy Corn, which they told me to feed her at night. There is also a bag of Bean Mix, which comes with boil/soak directions. They said they bought this but haven't given her any yet. And lastly there is a bag of (what looks like) pellets. The previous owners didn't give me any direction on this. There is no label on the bag. From all the reading I have been doing, it seems like I should be feeding more pellets and less seed. My question is do you feed the pellets dry, right out of the bag, or do they need to be cooked? All advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. Brat Birds
Pellets are feed right out of the bag. I keep a small bowl in the cage at all times. Mine get nutriberries and avicakes too. Along with fresh veggies and fruit. The beans can be served with noodles and veggies added too. The Crazy Corn I have no idea about - never heard of it. Even though mine get seeds in the nutriberries and avicakes, I give them a couple of tablespoons of a seed mix twice a week- they just seem to enjoy it a lot. BaileysPapa
Mine also eat pellets right out of the bag. If you have trouble with birds eating pellets, you can grind them up and add the powder to anything they will eat. Or you could add natural fruit juice to moisten them. I give my guys moistened pellets, as a treat, now & then. Any natural fruit juice is good, stay away from sweetened juice or orange juice.
