Lilly Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 My two jack Russell's used to chase pigeons off our running water fall that goes into the pond. Since I have had my Cag which they are both wary of and stay well clear, they don't chase the birds off now, which obviously is a good thing because the birds can drink in peace!
Ray P Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Greys are capable of so many things and that`s what makes them awesome.
Lilly Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 Absaloutely and keeping 2 jack Russels in check is one of them lol!
Greywings Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 who thought Lilly would become a dog trainer extraordinaire.
danmcq Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Cool story. Thanks for sharing it. My son has a Jack Russell. That high energy ball of fire will leap 4 feet in the air up and down a gazillion times right in front of Dayo's cage when they come and visit. Dayo puffs up and tells him No no no no no! But to no avail the jumping continues until one of us go get "Q" and either place him outside to play or in his crate for a time out. I guess Dayo has not yet mastered Dog Training.
JeffNOK Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 My parents' dog Barkleah has totally changed his attitude towards birds as well. He used to chase them whenever they entered the yard. Now he just watches them calmly and does nothing. I guess familiarity with a bird "friend" (Gracie/CAG) does affect the dog's view of other birds.
kins2321@yahoo.com Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 lilly, your dogs have decided your bird is the leader. Yay! Makes everything so much easier.Encourage the relationship. Our birds and dogs all love each other.I keep them seperated during the day I'm at work. The moment I'm home....they are all over each other. In a loving way Nancy
