Westsail
Hello fellow bird lovers, First of all I would like to say thanks to the many contributing members of this forum, it's so nice to have access to so much information before making a life changing decision. I was once a slave to a beautiful blue and gold macaw for several years until a divorce forced me to rehome him unfortunately. I say slave jokingly, in all actuality we had a strong mutually trusting relationship. Now that my life has settled down and I have the time to devote to an additional family member I find myself looking for a reputable breeder who can ship to Alaska. I ran across a a web site called africangreykingdom, it sounds to good to be true. Has anybody had any experience dealing with this breeder? If so what was the outcome. Also, I would consider adopting a AGC, I know from experience that life throws curve balls which make keeping a demanding pet difficult. Thanks again, I'm pleased to be a member. SRSeedBurners
Is this the site you're refering to? http://africangreykingdom.info/available.html If so, that looks like a African Grey sweatshop. You get what you pay for with these guys. I would stay far far away. Upon further investigation, it looks like that place is located outside of the U.S. Edited April 11, 2013 by SterlingSL

danmcq
Perhaps a large city like anchorage would have a few pet shops and maybe knowledge of breeders or rescues they could put you in contact with? It certainly wouldn't hurt to call and see.
judygram
Hello Michael and welcome to our family. There may be some breeders of greys in Alaska, why not try avianbiotech.com you can do a search by state and see if any turns up, you can also contact local vets to see if any of them have any information that may be of help to you in your search. We used to have an active member who lived in Alaska but he has not been on the forum now for several years. That would be excellent if you could find a grey that needed a new forever home, they are available but sometimes hard to find but do keep looking.
