danmcq
Congrats on the first word. It is always exciting and now you can both celebrate it and your birthday with a couple of carrots, maybe a nut or two with a splash of aloe juice to wash it down with. judygram
Well the floodgates will be open soon and you will hear lots of new sounds and words then sentences, oh happy day.
MoonRock
How wonderful! And they say "hello" is a trickier word for parrots than some others, so you will likely hear many more words and certainly sounds in the years to come.
JeffNOK
Congrats to you and Alfie! It is really exciting when then they start talking. For me it has added a positive dimension to my relationship with Gracie. I would have been just fine if she had never uttered a word, but it can really be fun and when they use their words to express their desires and feelings. It can opens doors to understanding. Gracie still hasn't said "hello". She says "Hi", "hiya" and "hey there". Sometimes it can be a mixed blessing, though. Gracie often gets certain phrases in her mind and repeats them over and over. Other times it sounds like the stream of consciousness of "Rain Man" with such randomness that I have no idea what is going on in her brain. kins2321@yahoo.com
So now you say hello back, act like everything is normal. Secretly... you plan a party, do a celebration dance. Nancy
