I have a african grey that is a male who is 5 years old, my dads mate at work wants to give him her parrot so if i place them together, would there get on well?

They may get along, they may not get long, they may be indifferent to each other. There's no exact answer. The one thing both would need is their own cage. 2 in one cage is only asking for serious trouble. It'll take a bit of time to find out if they get along but that can only happen when both are near each other outside of the cages on playstands. Most of the time, they're indifferent towards each other. I have 3 and as long as each has their own space, there's no problems.

I have a female TAG (4 1/2) and an male CAG ( almost 3). They have separate cages and do not interact except for minor battles in which one or the other will back off. They are not companions in any form. The only way to find out is like Dave 007 said, you have to let them out together and watch them closely to see if they get along.

I have three and they are all fine with each other. My TAG will play with the CAG's but the CAG's will not play with each other. However, like was said earlier there is no way to know.
