forummehta Posted January 13, 2013 Share Posted January 13, 2013 I was just wondering..does your bird stay in the cage or on a perch most of the time? My CAG is around 4 yrs old and ive had her for only 3 months now. I think shes probably captive because she seems pretty wild and doesnt speak or mimic any sounds. I keep her on the perch all day. She hates the cage.. I was just thinking..would it be better to put her in the cage and let her adjust to it.or should i just leave her on the perch?? A place to feel safe and go to sleep.I takes time for a bird to adjust to cage. Try putting fun toys inside the cage and encourage exploration. jla Posted January 18, 2013 Share Posted January 18, 2013 I have perches throughout the house; the computer room, bathroom, etc. I take my girl with me as I move around the house. Her cage is in the living room (where we spend majority of our time). I will open the door and she is content with perching on the open door, hanging upside down in the door way, exploring the top of the cage, and decides if she wants to go back inside the cage to play with toys or eat. We had a play gym for her once, but it wasn't as practical for us, so we just keep the cage toys/arrangement fresh and new. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
