it is "snowing" in the house

There are so many little white feathers all over! I cannot sweep under Charley's cage or they go all over, I have to use the "loud noise" (or as humans call it- the vacuum). When he is flying they go everywhere. I am not worried because he only lost a few little grey feathers, but I am just curious what these feathers are called, how often do they lose these, and how long do they lose them for. It sure makes it look like it is snowing in the house when he flaps around! :D

Sounds like down feathers. How old is Charley? I find that the best thing for cleaning the light weight feathers up with is a dry swiffer. It has been a life saver with cleaning feathers and dander.

Charley is 11 months old. I will try a swifter, thanks! How often do they loose the down feathers like this?

It certainly is normal and I said the same thing when Jasper starting dropping all his. It was messy but the worst thing to me was they always managed to find my coffee or open drink.
