Sassy
Anyone give their grey craft blocks from michaels or hobby lobby? They are marked as plain wood. Thoughts??
danmcq
Yes, every time I go through Michaels or other craft stores, I always look for wood items to use in building new toys. I also use large tins of childrens toy blocks like tinkertoys. IN my opinion they are perfectly safe.
Audrey
Is their balsa wood safe? You ask staff and their eyes start to glaze over...

The wood consistancy that's used for greys is regular to hard wood. Balsa wouldn't last 10 min. Greys are known as the best wood chewers around. Any wood used should last a grey a long time. If possible, they have tha ability to bite thru furniture wood, window frame wood, hard toys that even a dog wood have problems with and other things.
