GreenT
We are going to be taking a trip (was already planned a long time ago).. leaving Sat early and back Sunday late. Any tips for making sure our Cookie stays on course and happy while we are gone? We do have a dog, cat, Green Cheeked Conure, hampsters, so will have someone come to feed those other animals. But I wonder if we will find someone with guts to take her out and then sit with her awhile, be able to put her back, etc.? I may have to "train" someone this week and then make sure they come at least two times on Sat. and two on Sunday for us all. Any suggestions? Just that Cookie has only been with us since Thursday. I guess she will have been with us for over a week by the time it hits Sat so that isn't as bad as it could have been.
lovemyGreys
It is such early days with your new grey to be leaving her alone, she will be getting use to her new surroundings, you & your family & finding her confidence. Is it possible that a friend or family member can come & stay at your house for the few days you are away ? BMustee
Yeah, that is really soon to be going away for extended times. I would say the best thing for the Grey would be what LMG said...have someone stay over.
MakenasDad
GreenT, How old is your Grey? I like what the others have suggested, but if no one can stay over, maybe you could set a radio on a timer? (couple of hours a day?) If you do that, you may want to set the station to a news station. I've heard of birds picking up some pretty annoying tunes before on music stations. Hope this helps..
