Sassy Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 What do you guys and gals think of this cage? http://www.largebirdcages4u.com/split-level-house-cage-with-divider-42x26-pc-4226d# Thanks Sassy
Wisp Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 It looks really good. Personally I don't really like the part where it opens up at the top since there would be even more poop on the perches but if you don't mind that then it's perfect
judygram Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 I love it, it is just like the one Josey has, I love the playtop on one side as it is not so high up as the ones that has it on the very top, Josey spends some time on it every day and loves to slide down the toy hook for of course she has to be on top.
murfchck Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 (edited) Thats the one Gabby has also. I will say cleaning it is kinda hard since i put the paper on top of the grates, that little door on the lower side makes it hard to reach the back, but i still would buy it again as she loves the levels. Sassy Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 I'm probably not going to open the dome part (at least not often) I like that there are 2 doors on the front so that should help to change the papers... What i really like is that the playtop is lower than when we have now so that should be better... I just have to convince hubby that this bigger cage is a good thing. It's 8" wider and a couple inches deeper.
Ray P Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 If you can make it fit than I say get it. Most of the members that have them like them.
Timbersmom Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 That is the one I have for Timber (that he won't use). He continues to prefer the rust bucket (a slight exaggeration). I think it looks great and it seems well made, but sadly I haven't had any real experience with it yet except as a piece of furniture!
Timbersmom Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 Also, Ray's comment about the size is right. It takes up a lot of space. The other thing I'm not sure about (if Timber ever decides to give it a shot) is the space between the bottom of the cage and the floor. The one he is in now sits a couple of feet off the floor. Since he is always trying to get to the floor and I have three free roaming cats, I'm not sure how that will work!
kins2321@yahoo.com Posted October 16, 2012 Posted October 16, 2012 The cage looks beautiful! It is important to plan on a cage, and NOT plan on getting a fancier one! Greys will refuse usually, upgrading a cage. Make the plan to get a cage that they can grow into. They won't let you " upgrade". Sophie has a metal gym she has had since I adopted her. Any new gym I give her, she refuses. My son has fixed her gym over and over! I have even found the same metal gym... she refuses! Thank God, Sean is handy. We may be hiring a welder soon! LOL! Nancy
Sassy Posted October 16, 2012 Author Posted October 16, 2012 Yeah I'm worried about her not liking it so iplan on getting the same color to min issues that way. She's only been home about 6 weeks and before that she was moved from cage to cage so it's prb my best shot to move her with few issues. I'm waiting on pricing from the shop by me before I make my final decision.
Talon Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 I have the same one in beige. I never open the top, as it is Talons day cage. She seems happy with it and I find it easy to clean and very sturdy. My greys and amazon never had problem changing cages, they always went right in and loved it! They watched me build them and put their stuff in it. So they were excited and curious as I made a big exciting event about it!
Timbersmom Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 You are probably right Sassy, about doing it sooner rather than later. In hindsight, I shouldn't have given Timber a choice. I should have just put him in the new cage when I brought him home, when he was adjusting to "all new" anyway.
Sassy Posted October 26, 2012 Author Posted October 26, 2012 The bird shop was able to get me a good price on the cage. It should arrive Monday barring any issues with the hurricane. (I'm in the line of fire)
Timbersmom Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 Good deal! Hope the hurricane blows itself out before it gets to you...

judygram Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Lets hope it all blows over and doesn't live up to expectations.
Sassy Posted October 27, 2012 Author Posted October 27, 2012 Me too.---Honesdale. North east I know where that is. Used to ride my motorcycle up that way all the time.
Charlie32 Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) This cage is really awesome. It hasa huge spache that 2 birds can easily adjust in it. And we can design its interiosr by our choice and can make it looking pretty good. That is nice. I will also like it to buy. Termite Control Brisbane Edited November 26, 2013 by Charlie32
