Travel Cage

Wisp

Recommended Posts

I might be leaving for 10 days to visit family and I'm not sure if I should bring her with me. If she stays she'll be at home looked after by family here, but I want to spend more time with her because by the time I get back I'll only have a few days with her before we'll be leaving the country for 2 weeks and she'll be boarded with her breeder.

I want to know how long I can leave her in the travel cage if we go out for a few hours. I'd take her with me to most places but the weather is way too cold for her. I was also thinking of leaving her in the bathroom with her cage when we go out sometimes, we can take out everything that might a risk and close the toilet bowl so that she can't get in there as well as leave her travel cage where I'll be putting a lot perches and toys on the outside of the cage as well.

This is the travel cage I have for Luna: http://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Products-Travel-1305-20-Inch/dp/B003VVP0KU

If you are traveling by car by all means take her and when you leave the house on occasion just leave her in the travel cage, it is big enough for her to spend some time in if she is allowed out when you are there. I have taken my grey on road trips and she does fine and its best she spend that time with you since you are going away again so soon, just my opinion.

I'll be going by plane so I'm a little worried about that (but I think it would be a good thing for her to experience), the cage is probably too big and I'll be needing one that covered more while for the plane. My siblings have a cat so I'm going to have to be careful with her out, but we have enough people around to keep everything under control and I really want her to meet more animals.

Do airlines allow you to bring their food along?

You will need to check the airline on which you are flying if they allow them on board and if so there are rules and regulations that you have to follow before you can take them, you would have to put her in the cabin with you and not in freight, too cold there for her.

That one looks good though I think I prefer the solid top one so that she doesn't get spooked by anything above her. I'll browse for now but I'll only start really shopping for a carrier when I find out the maximum height of the cage I can bring in the cabin with me.
