vonzip
Ipe is an imported hard wood used frequently in this country. I could find no information (several searches on different search engines) on the effects it might have if ingested by a grey or any other parrot. I was thinking about using a piece of it I have in the shop to make a small horizontal resting perch but will not make a move till finding out if this wood is safe. Anybody know for sure? Mistyparrot
Dust from ipe wood can cause respiratory problems and allergic reactions in humans. It may not be safe for parrots for that reason. Best stick to fruit woods like apple. It is not something I would care to experiment with. Steve n Misty

vonzip
Thanks guys, I think I'll stick to a more conventional known "safe" wood.
