Greywings Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Corvids are smart and have strong family ties, Walter is a good example of that. It is a heartwarming story, thanks Dave.
katana600 Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Great link Dan, it was a wonderful story. I liked the part on the video where he comes hopping right in the front door with the family. Great way to start my day, thanks.
CLB Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Such a heartwarming story. Walter is lucky to have such a caring flock.
Timbersmom Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Loved the story, and great video! Thanks for sharing
Sarasota Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 That's the wonderful (and difficult) thing about crows, they imprint so easily to humans. Many rehabbers will release crows that continue to live on or near their property - for life. It's hard to resist loving up a crow - but in wildlife rehab you have to shut off that part of you. I've have no trouble rehabbing songbirds (other than Starlings!) and seabirds....but I'd be an AWFUL corvid rescurer. They'd be lined up on my sofa watching TV and drinking Diet Coke.
Luvparrots Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 (edited) Great story. Reminds me of the crow that followed me into our motor home when we were traveling a few years back. It was all I could do to keep myself from keeping this beautiful wild animal. I think of him now and then and wonder where he is. Thanks for this great story. Edited October 4, 2012 by luvparrots
Ray P Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 When I was a kid in School my friend had a pet crow and every day he would follow our school bus to school and wait and sit on the mail box by the road when it was time for him to come home. This went on for years untill he passed away.
