snuggling the wrong bird!

This morning I got up earlier than birds do, walked into birdroom, I found Sunny snuggling with Sophie! I did a double take, yes, they were snuggling! Sunny is bonded to Kiki. They snuggle all the time. Have never found Sophie snuggling with anyone! Could it be that Sunny is so old, Sophie is okay with this? Nancy

Interesting! I wonder, again, if it has something to do with the kids being gone? I had a cat who lived to be 17 and died a couple of years ago. He "mothered" the youngest cat for reasons I never understood. The younger cat never bonded with any of us. After Callie died, his personality changed dramatically. Now he is all over all of us. My point is, if the "chosen" one isn't around, may it's a "love the one you are with" thing and Sophie is being kind to Sunny! Who knows what goes on in their fascinating little minds.

How sweet of Sophie to cuddle with Sunny, she may very well sense that Sunny just needed it and provided it for her, they know more than they are telling us but actions speak loudly, capture a picture of it if you catch them doing it again.

I hope its more like what Timbersmom said, rather than Sophie thinking Sunny needed it. Sunny can snuggle anytime with Kiki. If Sophie is suspecting he needs it... to me, that means Sunny's time is close. Sophie would know. She is our flock leader.I'm hoping Sophie is just missing Ryan. Nancy

All is back to normal today. Kiki and Sunny snuggling... Sophie teasing Kiki, Kiki getting mad and squaking at Sophie. Sunny yelling at them both! AHHHHH!! The good times! Nancy

Nope! NOT back to normal. Again, found Sophie snuggling with Sunny on Sunny and Kiki's cage. Kiki on Sophie's cage. Could Sunny and Kiki be getting a divorce and noone told me? I'm starting to think " this is about Kiki". Her owner just went off to college, she is acting very independent lately. She is very close to Sean, this is his first semester at college. Any thoughts? What to do? Something is off. Nancy
