murfchck
Okay, we gave it a shot. Gabby loved it, Bongo was scared to death of it and the macaws were more interested in what was under Olivers wing! It was still alot of fun though! I put the tops back on them and Gabby kept flying to it taking the top off, getting a few more nibbles and then flying back to the couch to wipe her beak off, good times! Timbersmom
I didn't take any pics, but Timber was scared of the pumpkin. I gave him a small piece and he dropped it. So, I baked a piece, thinking he might like it cooked. I put it on a plate and sat with him near it. He sniffed it then ignored it. So, I finally cut a few pieces up and put it with his dinner. Later, they were in the bottom of the cage. Stubborn bird! I have half still in the fridge (it was only about 8 inches in diameter) and will try something else with that. It was worth a try anyway, but it seems like I spent half the day with it. I suspect Timber is laughing to himself about me and the pumpkin! Sarasota
GREAT photos! They don't have pumpkins at my market yet. Boo West Coast! I did give the birds some organic, canned pumpkin and they loved it.
murfchck
I took my extra pumpkin to the scarlett macaw across the street. She shredded it but didn't eat a bite! She loved ripping it to pieces!
Wulfgeist
So inspired I picked up a couple of the little pumpkins this morning whilst at the store. When I got home I brought them in here to show Jasper and he growled at them because he wasn't sure what to think. So I guess I will just wash them and leave one in here near his cage for a while. Silly thing.
Wingy
Somewhere I saw some pictures where someone had stuffed the pumpkin with fresh yummies and washable plastic toys that they knew their bird liked. Perhaps this made the pumpkin less scary.

Timber dint even like the seeds? No, he wouldn't even eat the seeds! I hand fed him a couple and they hit the floor. Not giving up though. I'm going to put a smaller section on his playstand and see what he does with it (if anything) next.

Timbersmom
oooo I can try that tonight. I always put fresh veggies on his kabob on the morning, but will give the pumpkin a shot in the evening.
