My husband and I brought home our first baby Grey together last night. We got a 5 week old baby. We are not 100% on names yet so if you have a suggestion we need them. I hope you are all having a great day with your Greys.

Not a great photo but I will post more.

Do you have a boy or a girl? May want to wait until you get a feel for that developing personality first. If a busy bouncy bird Bungee or a quiet bird a soft sounding name like Cloud. What ever you decide on welcome here and we love pictures of those baby Greys-hint hint.

COngrats...

On a serious side.

Do you have hand feeding experience? This thread may be useful: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?73409-Handfeeding-a-Baby-Grey.

THese are things you also need to be aware of: http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?73842-Associated-risk-s-of-Hand-feeding.

I hope it goes well for you. Even experienced hand feeders can lose babies during feeding.

My baby is 15 weeks old tomorrow and I'm letting the bird shop/breeder finishing the weaning process.

yeah i remember that... best for me was one day there were tiny little red dots for the tail and the next day poof there they were... it was amazing... I am lucky that I get to see my baby 3-4 times a week. They sure do grow fast. RIght now they have a baby B&G that's only 6 weeks old and bigger than my Neytiri... scary fast growers...

Hello Alnoble89 and welcome to our family and congrats on your new baby grey.

Sassy has given you a couple of links to good threads to read and be sure to look thoroughly thru the nursery room for lots of helpful information, handfeeding can be a tricky thing which in most cases is best left to those who know how and do it on a regular basis, too much can go wrong if you are not careful.

Your baby is adorable, they are so special when this young and it will be fascinating to watch him/her grow up into a fully feathered bird, be sure to share more pics as he/she grows so we can see the development, babies hold a special place in our hearts and we cannot get enough of them for they grow so fast.
