Sassy Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 Since I bought a used cage I'm replacing the perches. I'm having trouble though finding wood perches that are the right size. I need 33 in and 32 in perches. Any suggestions? Thanks Sassy
thenabrd Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 if you have access to a saw, what about large diameter dowel rods. there's also lots of options in rope perches and other perches made from branches of different woods. a variety of different perch diameters is needed for proper foot health.
JeffNOK Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Can you just get a variety of perches that attach to the sides of the cage? Manzanita branch perches are great and you can get several different sizes. They may not extend all the way across the cage, but they will extend well into it and are stable when attached correctly.
Spock Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Sassy, clean your cage with white vinegar, when it sun drys, have 2 spray bottles, one filled with white vinegar the other filled with H202, [Hydrogen Peroxide] Spray first wit one, than the other, it doe's matter which one you spray with first. This is the best disinfectant you can use, no bleach....You can even clean the cage with the parrot in it, soak veggies and rinse hard toys and bowels etc...Thanks Jay and Maggie...

Thanks. I really like that idea. Sassy
