dumfatnhappy
Calphalon can be fatal to birds. It is my understand that the fumes the Teflon produces when burnt is what is fatal to them. We have Calphalon and the bird is moved to another room, and the room is closed off to be save when we use it. We are going to replace ours with stainless in the near future.[/quote:443aadb746] thanks for the response. I have a griddle (built-in) that is old as dirt, it's the "coating" that gets them right? I assume my coating is all but gone. Bird is in another room so I don't know if I need to worry or not? (love those quesadillas!)
dumfatnhappy
When the coating becomes scratched and breaks down is when the problem occurs. I have heard people claim burning food on it can cause problems too.[/quote:a795596976] I recommend this to all bird owners concerning the teflon question, great read http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=15&cat=18&articleid=2874
